The Eardley project involved providing scaffold access to enable essential repair and decorative works across the full facades of this prominent seafront property in Worthing. CNM Scaffolding was contracted to supply, erect, hire, and strike a tied-in independent scaffold system that allowed works to proceed safely and efficiently on all elevations. Each elevation was equipped with fully boarded lifts, providing contractors with stable and consistent working platforms. To ensure the safety of the public and tenants in the area, a double-boarded base lift with polythene sheeting was installed as standard, creating a sealed barrier to minimise the risk of falling debris. As a signature touch, CNM's iconic pink debris netting was applied across all elevations, providing visual protection while enhancing the brand's presence along the busy Marine Parade. Ladder-only access was used throughout the structure, with gates and safety foam applied where required to meet health and safety expectations.
This project utilised our commercial scaffolding and edge protection & handrails services, delivered to our full range of industry accreditations and safety standards. The project was located in Worthing, one of our key service areas across the south coast.
A key logistical challenge in this project was the property's location on Marine Parade — a busy coastal road with high foot traffic and limited pavement width. To address this, CNM liaised directly with the local authority to ensure the scaffold installation met all pavement licence requirements. Every section of the scaffold was installed with public access, safety, and visual impact in mind. In addition, phasing was essential. The project required coordinated scaffolding work to allow decorators and repair teams to progress through the elevations without delay. CNM worked closely with PH Beck Ltd to develop a phased installation and dismantling plan that maintained momentum across the full eight-week hire period.
Throughout the project, health and safety remained a top priority. In addition to full regulatory compliance, the scaffold system was installed with ladder-only access, gate controls, and protective foam on all standards. Combining double boarding, polythene barriers, and pink netting offered maximum debris protection and public shielding.
CNM Scaffolding successfully delivered a fully compliant, high-visibility access solution for The Eardley that supported both safety and visual appeal in a sensitive coastal location. By combining efficient phasing, pavement licence compliance, and clear communication with the main contractor, CNM enabled the smooth execution of repair and decorative works across this landmark commercial property.
