    Project Details

The Beach House project involved providing scaffold access to enable the extension of the main property and garage for development and refurbishment. CNM Scaffolding was contracted to supply, erect, hire, and strike an independent scaffold system designed for phased works across the property, ensuring all construction activity could proceed safely and efficiently. The scaffold included independent access to the main property, featuring fully boarded lifts, double handrails, and toeboards, which offered secure working platforms for contractors. A temporary roof was erected, extending upwards and over the existing roof structure, with C.I sheets providing cover. The roof valance was shrink-wrapped from the underside to the top, allowing work to continue in all weather conditions. Buttressing was applied to the South and North elevations to provide essential structural reinforcement against lateral forces. Ladder access was used throughout, with gates installed where required and protection foam applied to all standards.

This project utilised our temporary roofs and hoist & lifting solutions services, delivered to our full range of industry accreditations and safety standards. The project was located in West Sussex, one of our key service areas across the south coast.

    Project Challenges

A key logistical challenge was ensuring the project progressed in three distinct phases without disrupting schedules. CNM worked closely with Grey Tree Construction Ltd to coordinate scaffolding, adapting the system to meet the evolving needs of the works at each stage of the development. Additionally, an adaptation was designed to provide a dedicated loading bay for materials, ensuring efficient handling and movement throughout the site.

    Health & Safety

Health and safety were prioritised throughout. The scaffold featured ladder-only access, gate controls, and protective foam on all standards. The temporary roof and shrink-wrapped valance ensured debris control and weather protection, while buttressing safeguarded against structural stresses.
