    Project Details

C.N.M Scaffolding was appointed to supply, erect, hire, and strike scaffolding to facilitate roof works at St Mary's Catholic School in Worthing. The project was delivered on behalf of Royal Roofing and required careful planning due to the live school environment and the timing of the works during the winter months. Independent access scaffolding was installed to provide safe and reliable access for the roofing works, alongside the installation of a temporary roof system. The temporary roof was erected upwards and over the existing structure to create a fully protected working environment, allowing the project to continue with minimal disruption despite adverse winter weather conditions. All scaffolding was designed and installed to ensure stability, safety, and compliance throughout the hire period, supporting uninterrupted progress on site.

This project utilised our temporary roofs and commercial scaffolding services, delivered to our full range of industry accreditations and safety standards. The project was located in Worthing, one of our key service areas across the south coast.

    Project Challenges

One of the primary challenges of this project was carrying out the works on a live school site during term time. This required a heightened focus on safeguarding, access control, and coordination to ensure the safety of pupils, staff, and contractors at all times. In addition, winter weather conditions posed a risk to project timelines. The installation of the temporary roof was essential in mitigating delays caused by rain and cold weather, enabling roofing works to proceed safely and efficiently.

    Health & Safety

Health and safety were central to the planning and execution of this project. All operatives working on site held enhanced DBS checks, ensuring full compliance with safeguarding requirements and providing reassurance to the school throughout the duration of the works. The scaffolding installation followed all relevant safety standards and site-specific requirements, with secure access, controlled working areas, and ongoing monitoring to maintain a safe environment for both contractors and the school community.
