Efficient material handling is critical to keeping construction projects on time and on budget. C.N.M Scaffolding provides scaffold-integrated loading bays, material handling platforms, and lifting solutions that streamline site logistics for developments across West Sussex, East Sussex, and Hampshire.
Our innovative approach to loading bay design was demonstrated at the Clifton Road apartment block in Worthing, where we designed and installed a beamed loading bay walkway that solved constrained perimeter access — a solution that earned praise from the main contractor. For framework contracts across Hampshire, we provide D-pole configurations and tower solutions that adapt to evolving site requirements.
We integrate loading bays into scaffold structures as projects develop, adapting installations to accommodate changing material handling needs. Our in-house design capability means we can engineer bespoke solutions for even the most constrained sites. System staircases provide safe access to all loading levels, and every installation meets our comprehensive safety standards.
Material delivery platforms at multiple levels for efficient vertical logistics
Bridging structures for material delivery where ground-level access is restricted
Safe staircase access to all working and loading levels for all site personnel
Independent scaffold configurations for flexible material handling on framework contracts
Loading bays added or modified as the project evolves and requirements change
In-house design solutions for constrained sites and unusual loading requirements
On multi-storey commercial projects, getting materials to the working level safely and efficiently is a critical part of site logistics. Our scaffold-mounted loading bays and material hoists provide a controlled route for lifting materials from ground level to upper floors, reducing manual handling risk and keeping the project moving.
We design loading bay positions to suit the site layout and the trades' requirements, and our team can adapt the setup as the project progresses through different phases. All loading bays are boarded, edge-protected, and fitted with gates to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
For smaller-scale lifting requirements, we provide gin wheels and manual lifting equipment mounted to the scaffold structure. These are commonly used on domestic projects and smaller commercial jobs where a full material hoist is not required — for example, lifting tiles, slates, and roofing materials to working level on a residential re-roof.
All lifting equipment is installed in accordance with LOLER regulations, and we provide the necessary documentation for your site records. Our team will advise on the most appropriate lifting solution for your project during the site survey.

View ProjectA beamed loading bay is a bridging structure that creates a platform for material delivery where ground-level access is restricted. We designed and installed an innovative beamed loading bay walkway at Clifton Road, Worthing, which solved constrained perimeter access for an apartment block development.
Yes, loading bays can be added to scaffold structures as the project develops. We regularly adapt our installations to accommodate material handling requirements as they evolve.
We provide scaffold-integrated solutions for material handling including loading bays at various levels, system staircases, and D-pole configurations for independent scaffolding.
