Project Details

CNM Scaffolding undertook a significant phased project at The Old Dairy in Littlehampton, working as a subcontractor to main contractor PH Beck. The project was secured through a competitive tender process in which CNM Scaffolding submitted a comprehensive proposal that demonstrated cost-effective scaffold designs and clear programme timelines, setting us apart from competing bids. Following appointment, our team moved into the design phase, producing scaffold layouts specifically tailored to the roofing scope across the development. The first phase of the scaffold structure was erected over a 15-day period, providing a safe and secure working platform for the roofing team. The second block was scheduled for erection in the following months, requiring careful coordination to maintain workflow continuity and meet overall project deadlines.

This project utilised our commercial scaffolding and safe access scaffolding services, delivered to our full range of industry accreditations and safety standards. The project was located in Littlehampton, one of our key service areas across the south coast.

Project Challenges

The project required the erection of a temporary scaffold structure across multiple blocks to support roofing works, with each block running on an 8-week programme. A key challenge was maintaining workflow continuity between the phased blocks to keep the overall programme on track. The site was a live environment with local residents in close proximity. CNM Scaffolding had to make careful allowances to work within agreed working hours guidelines and ensure residents had clear access throughout the works. Open communication with local residents was essential to maintain positive relationships on site.

Health & Safety

Working in a live residential environment required a structured approach to health and safety. CNM Scaffolding ensured all relevant scaffold legislation and safety regulations were adhered to throughout. Working hours were strictly observed to minimise disruption to residents, and safe pedestrian and vehicle access was maintained at all times. All scaffold structures were erected and inspected in full compliance with industry standards.
